➝ The process of making yarn from fibre is known as Spinning .

It is the process of converting raw fibres to spun clothes.

• It is started in India by spinning wheels between 500AD & 1000AD.

• Wayne Smith and J. Tom Cothren made a spinning wheel which changes the world clothing.

• Gandhiji used spinning wheel during the independence era for boycotting of the britishers.

• Its mainly done by natural fibre like cotton , wool etc.

• Later ,China devloped Silk by the silkworm this gave a beautiful spun clothes.

• Now, manmade fibre is spun over large factories .
