Rib cage-

The rib cage has three important functions: protection, support and respiration. It encloses and protects the heart and lungs. It provides a strong framework onto which the muscles of the shoulder girdle, chest, upper abdomen and back can attach

2. Smooth muscle fibers are located in walls of hollow visceral organs, except the heart, appear spindle-shaped, and are also under involuntary control. Skeletal muscle fibers occur in muscles which are attached to the skeleton. They are striated in appearance and are under voluntary control.

smooth muscles Example -. walls of blood vessels , walls of stomach

skeletal muscle Example- found between bones , tendon

❥Rɪʙ Cᴀɢᴇ

The ribs are a set of twelve paired bones which form the protective ‘cage’ of the thorax. They articulate with the vertebral column posteriorly, and terminate anteriorly as cartilage (known as costal cartilage).

1. Skeletal muscles are attached to the bones.

2.Skeletal muscles perform voluntary action.

3.Skeletal muscles are well striated.

❥Sᴍᴏᴏᴛʜ Mᴜsᴄʟᴇs:)

1.Smooth muscles line up the visceral organs viz. Intestines, blood vessels, pupils etc (therefore also known as visceral muscles.)

2.Smooth muscles are responsible for involuntary reflexes and actions.

3.Smooth muscles lack striation.

(Hence,the name-Smooth muscle)
