Answer:

Soil is important for us as a natural resource because it is the main source for our food, clothing and shelter. It provides us food as it supports the growth of plants. The plants use nutrients and minerals present in the soil for growth and provide us with different products, such as clothes, wood, paper, fuel and medicines.

We are also dependent on the soil for the different kinds of minerals and ores. Apart from the minerals, soil also provides us with water. The rainwater which falls on the ground seeps through the soil and gets stored underground as subsoil water or water table. This water can be later lifted by digging wells and then can be used for various purposes.
