Answer:

Life in Kerala slowly limped back to normal after the rains stopped. People started

going back to their houses to clean, to rebuild and begin life afresh. But the situation is

still quite grim. People are being greeted by crocodiles, snakes and other reptiles when they enter their homes. However, the festival of Onam made people return to normal life

as the rains did not really dampen their spirits. With over a million people displaced due

to the floods, most people in Kerala have celebrated Onam at relief camps. It has been

reported that most relief camps across the state provided free Onam lunch to lakhs of

people who were made homeless by the devastating floods. At a relief camp in

Alappuzha, women cheerfully danced to celebrate the festival. The camp itself has

decorated rangoli made of salt and colour and one of the volunteers said that nothing

was lost and everything would be regained. That is the spirit that prevails strongly in the

aftermath of the floods.
