Answer:
Unlike a one-party system (or a two-party system), a multi-party system encourages the general constituency to form multiple distinct, officially recognized groups, generally called political parties. Each party competes for votes from the enfranchised constituents (those allowed to vote).

- I will make you this understand by giving an example
- China has one party system, India has multi-party system whereas USA, UK follows two party system
- China has Communist Party
- USA has Republican & Democratic parties
- UK has Labour & Conservative parties
- In China, because of one party rule, there is almost an authoritarian rule, they have banned many websites, apps etc., freedom of speech is lacking, they are targeting Hong Kong, Taiwan... & also suppressing minority Uighur muslims
- Such things are rare in proper democracies like USA, India as other parties will raise objections and people's voice will prevail
- One party rule might end up being a one person rule, people don't have choice
