2. Divide p(x) by g(x) where p(x) =x^3+3x^2+3x+1 and g(x) = 2x+5

SOLUTION:-

Given

• p(x) = x³+3x²+3x+1

• g(x) = 2x+5

Explanation

• p(x) = x³+3x²+3x+1

• g(x) = 2x+5

= x=-5/2

Putting x= -5/2 in p(x)

= x³+3x²+3x+1

= (-5/2)³+3×(-5/2)²+3×(-5/2)+1

= -125/8+3×25/4-15/2+1

= -125/8+ 75/4-15/2+1

Take LCM

= -125+150-60+8 / 8

= -185+158 / 8

= -27/8

Thus, the answer is -27/8
