2. Find the value of the unknown x in the below figure.

Concept : The sum of all the angles inside a triangle is equal to 180°

 x + 50° + 60° = 180°

 x + 110° = 180°

 x = 180° - 110°

 x = 70°

∴ The value of x is 70°

3. Find the value of x and y in the adjoining figure.

In the figure, y and 80° are vertically opposite angles. (These are the angles formed when two lines intersect.)

Vertically opposite angles are equal.

Hence, y = 80°

In a triangle, the sum of the angles is equal to 180°

50° + x + y = 180°

50° + x + 80°= 180°

 x + 130° = 180°

  x = 180° - 130°

  x = 50°

4. Find the value of x and y in the below figure.

In the figure, x and 60° are vertically opposite angles. (These are the angles formed when two lines intersect.)

Vertically opposite angles are equal.

Hence, x = 60°

In a triangle, the sum of the angles is equal to 180°

30° + x + y = 180°

30° + 60° + y = 180°

 y + 90° = 180°

  y = 180° - 90°

  y = 90°
