2. Draw AB = 9.7 cm. Take a point P on it such that A - P - B and

AP = 3.5 cm. Through P draw a line perpendicular to seg AB.

Steps of construction:

1. Draw a line with a scale of 9.7 cm and name it AB.

2. From the point A with a measure of 3.5 cm draw an arc on the line AB.

3. A point where the line AB and the arc intersects, mark it as P.

4. Therefore, we get, A - P - B

5. Using a ruler draw a line perpendicular to the line AB by placing the ruler on edge of point P on the line AB.
