a) Object at Infinity

  • Image is formed at the focus.

  • Image is diminished, inverted and real.

b) Object beyond 2F

  • Image form in between centre of curvature and focus.

  • Image is real, inverted and diminished.

c) Object at 2F

  • Image is formed at the centre of curvature.

  • Image is real, inverted and same size as that of the object.

d) Object between 2F and F

  • Image is formed beyond centre of curvature.

  • Image is real, inverted and magnified.

Ray Diagram of Convex Lens:

a) Object at Infinity

  • Image is formed at principal focus

  • Image is real, inverted and diminished.

b) Object beyond 2F

  • Image is formed in between centre of curvature and principal focus.

  • Image is real inverted and diminished.

c) Object at 2F

  • Image is formed at the centre of curvature.

  • Image is real inverted and has same size as that of the object.

d) Object between 2F and F

  • Image is phone beyond the centre of curvature.

  • Image is real inverted and magnified.
