Given : two parallel lines at a distance of 5cm. Base line as 6cm..

To find : . Draw two different triangles  on the same base and between the same parallels.

Solution:

1. Draw a  line XY

2. Take two points B and C on XY such that BC = 6 cm

3. Draw right angles at B & C using set square / protractor  and take 5 cm length and mark points E & F

4. Draw a line PQ passing through E& F

PQ || XY

taking point A  on PQ

join AB & AC

Draw AD ⊥ BC

Area of triangle ABC = (1/2) BC * AD

Take another point M on EF

draw  MN ⊥ BC

Area of triangle MBC  = (1/2) BC * MN

AD = MN   Hence Area of triangle ABC = Area of triangle MBC
