Note that string with which the spring balance is attached is ideal meaning that the Tension Force T will be equal at all the point. Moreover, the mass are also equal in this case. So, for one of the masses;

                  T = Mg

                  T = 2 × 10

                  T = 20 N

Similarly, for the other other mass, tension force, t= 20 N. So, spring balance will correspond to the tension force in both the cases.

The correspondence results that reading will be 2 kg itself implying that the reading won't be affected, it will remain the same.
