Given :  External angle of two regular polygon are 45°   & 50° . If the heads of each polygon are joined with center  then n1 and n2 triangles are formed

To find : n1: n2

Solution:

External angle of polygon = 360°/n

n  = number of sides of regular polygon

External angle  45° => sides = 360/45 = 8

External angle  50° => sides = 360/50 = 7.2  ( not possible)

if   If the heads of each polygon are joined with center then triangle formed = number of sides

External angle  = 51.43°  =(360/7)  or  60°

External angle  = 51.43°  => number of sides = 360/51.43 = 7

External angle  =60°  => number of sides = = 360/6 = 6

n1 : n2  = 8 : 7  if external angles are 45°   & 51.43°

n1 : n2  = 8 : 6  = 4 : 3  if external angles are 45°   & 60°
