The Role of Hydrochloric Acid in Aiding Digestion. ... As food moves out of the stomach, the H+ concentration increases which also serves to inhibit HCl secretion. 1. Hydrochloric acid contributes to protein digestion by supplying H+ which activates pepsinogen, the precursor to pepsin.

So; during respiration by us while sleeping under a tree we may affect our health as due to the amount of carbon dioxide is little bit higher around the tree. Because at night trees take oxygen and release co2 that's why it is not good to sleep at night and it is harmful for us.

Explanation:

2}Functions of HCl in stomach are :

i) soften the food.

ii) it makes the food acidic for the action of pepsinogen.

iii) it stops the action of salivary amylase.

iv) kills the germs and bacteria to disinfect the food.

v) converts inactive pepsinogen into pepsin and pro-renine into renine.

3}It is advised not to sleep under tree at night because during night when the plants respire, they release carbon dioxide into the atmosphere which is harmful for us...
