The food is broken down into smaller pieces by the teeth and mixed with the saliva in the mouth. Saliva moistens the food and helps in digestion of carbohydrates. With the help of the tongue, the food is pushed forward. Food particles then move to the stomach through the esophagus.

Answer:

food is digested in the mouth, stomach and small intestine. digested food is absorbed into the bloodstream in the small intestine. excess water is absorbed back into the body in the large intestine. any undigested food passes out of the anus as faeces when we go to the toilet.
