Explanation:

when a ray of light enters from the lower density to higher density it bends towards the normal(here less dense is air and more dense is glass slab). The angle formed here is called the angle of encidence and and the angle formed by refraction is called angle of refraction. After this the ray of light travels from higher(glass slab) to lower(air) then the light ray moves away from the normal. This ray is called emergent ray and the angle formed is called angle of emergence.

Now extending angle of encidence and angle of emergence lateral displacement is formed.
