Answer:

(i) 0.75 has two numbers after the decimal, so, we place 100 in the denominator and remove the decimal point.

⇒ 75/100

After reducing this fraction we get

⇒ (75 ÷ 25) / (100 ÷ 25) = 3/4

(ii) 2.4 as a fraction is 24/10 which can be reduced to 12/5.

(iii) 3.5% = 0.035%.

The answer is:

(i) 3/400,

(ii) 3/125, and

(iii) 7/200.

Step-by-step explanation:

To express percent into fractions, we need to follow the given steps:

  1. The % symbol is to be removed and a "100" placed in the denominator.
  2. The number is converted into a whole number by removing the decimal point by placing the required number of zeroes in the denominator.
  3. Then, the number is reduced to the simplest form.

Let us solve the questions now.

  • 0.75% = 0.75/100 = 75/10000 = 3/400
  • 2.4% = 2.4/100 = 24/1000 = 3/125
  • 3.5% = 3.5/100 = 35/1000 = 7/200
