(a)

${2y}^{2} + 7y + 3 = 0$

${2y}^{2} + 6y + y + 3 = 0$

$2y(y + 3) + 1(y + 3) = 0$

$(2y + 1)(y + 3) = 0$

$y = \frac{ - 1}{2} \: or \: - 3$

(b)

${3b}^{2} - 13b + 4 = 0$

${3b}^{2} - b - 12b + 4 = 0$

$b(3b - 1) - 4(3b - 1) = 0$

$(b - 4)(3b - 1) = 0$

$b = 4 \: or \: \frac{1}{3}$

(c)

${2t}^{2} - t - 10 = 0$

${2t}^{2} + 4t - 5t - 10 = 0$

$2t(t + 2) - 5(t + 2) = 0$

$(2t - 5)(t + 2) = 0$

$t = \frac{5}{2} \: or \: - 2$
