Advantages of manure:

  • Manure is eco-friendly. It contains humus which provides nutrients for the growth of plants, and doesn't pollute the soil and water. Addition of manure to the plants makes the soil more porous.

Disadvantages of manure:

  • Manure is bulky, so transportation and storage is difficult. Manure doesn't provide any specific nutrients to the plants, and plants can't absorb the minerals from manure easily.

Advantages of fertilizer:

  • Fertilizer, as it has chemicals added to it and is in liquid state, can be absorbed easily by the plants. It can be transported and stored easily, and provides specific plant nutrients such as Nitrogen, Potassium and Phosphorus.

Disadvantages of fertilizer:

  • As fertilizers are made in factories and hence have chemicals added to them, they can cause soil and water pollution when used in excessive amounts. This may degrade the soil quality and affect tge growth of plants.
