In triangle ABD,

AB=5

AD=9

∆ABD=right angled triangle

Therefore, applying Pythagoras theorem

bd^2=81-25

=56

bd=√56

BC=BD/2=√56/2

=√14

in triangle abc

AB=5

BC=√14

Applying Pythagoras theorem

AC^2=25+14

AC=√39
