(a) Given, radius, r = 14 cm

We know that area of a circle =πr2

=

22/7×142 =

22/7 ×14×14

=22×2×14=616 sq cm

(b) Given, diameter, D = 49 m; or, radius = (49)/(2)` m

Area =πr2

=22/7×49/2

=11×7×49/2

=11×3.5×49=1886.5sqm

Given, radius, r = 5 cm

Area =πr2

=22/7×5/2=

3.14×25

=78.5 sq cm
