We have to find, the discriminate of the quadratic equation and its nature of roots.

Solution:

∴ Discriminant, D = $b^2 -4ac$

= $(-4)^2 -4(3)(-2)$

= 16 + 24

= 40

∴ Discriminant, D = 40

D > 0, the roots are real and unequal.
