(a) Here the given numbers are 22 and 121

22 = 2 × 11

121 = 11 × 11

Hence required HCF = 11

(b) Here the given numbers are 30 and 45

30 = 2 × 3 × 5

45 = 3 × 3 × 5

Hence required HCF = 15

To Find :- HCF of :-

(a) 22, 121

(b) 30, 45

Solution :-

a) 22 , 121

checking prime factors of 22 and 121 ,

→ 22 = 2 * 11

→ 121 = 11 * 11

as we can see that, only common prime factor between 22 and 121 is 11 .

therefore, we can conclude that, HCF of 22 and 121 is 11 .

b) 30 , 45

checking prime factors of 30 and 45 ,

→ 30 = 2 * 3 * 5

→ 45 = 3 * 3 * 5

as we can see that, the common prime factor between 30 and 45 are 3 and 5 .

therefore,

→ HCF = 3 * 5 = 15 (Ans.)
