Given:

a. ∠A = 60°, ∠B = 60°

b. ∠A = 70°, ∠B = 80°

To find :

Measure of third angle of triangle = ?

Solution:

Measure of all angles of triangle is equal to 180°

a) ∠A = 60°, ∠B = 60°

Let third angle be ∠C = x°

∠A + ∠B + ∠C = 180°

60° + 60° + x° = 180°

120° + x° = 180°

x ° = 180° - 120°

x° = 60°

Thus, measure of third angle is 60°

b) ∠A = 70°, ∠B = 80°

Let third angle be ∠C = x°

∠A + ∠B + ∠C = 180°

70° + 80° + x° = 180°

150° + x° = 180°

x° = 180° - 150°

x° = 30°

Thus, measure of third angle is 30°

Knowledge booster:

  • Triangle is three sided polygon and sum of angles of triangle is 180° while quadrilateral have four sides and sum of angles of quadrilateral is 360°
  • Area of triangle = 1/2 × base × height
