1) To find : perimeter of square

  Given : area of square is 625\ cm ^{2} .

  Solution :

  • We know that all four sides of square are equal .
  • If ' a ' is the side of square then perimeter of square is given by,
  • Area of square = a^{2}

                           625 = a^{2}  \\a = 25\ cm

  • Now , side of square is 25\ cm  .
  • Therefore, by substituting the value in following formula we find perimeter.

       Perimeter of square = 4a

                                         = 4\times 25 \\= 100\ cm

Hence, perimeter of square is 100\ cm .

2) To find  : area of square .

   Given : side of square is 12\ cm

   Solution :

  • If ' a ' is the side of square then area of square is given by,
  • Area of square = a^{2}
  • Therefore, by substituting the value in following formula we find area.

       Area of square = ( 12)^{2}

                                = 144\ cm^{2}

Hence , area of square is 144\ cm^{2}   .
