(1) 3a + 4b, 5a - 6b, 8b + 9a

= (3a + 4b)+(5a - 6b)+(8b + 9a)

= 3a + 4b + 5a - 6b + 8b + 9a

= 17a + 6b .

(2) x + y - 2, 3x - 6y - 72, 7x + 6y + 8z

= (x + y - 2)+(3x - 6y -72)+(7x + 6y + 8z)

= x + y - 2 + 3x - 6y - 72 + 7x + 6y + 8z

= 11x + y - 74 + 8z .

(3) a+b+c-3d, 2a+6b+7c+8d, 5a+6b-70-18d,-9a+16b-9c-130

= (a+b+c-3d)+(2a+6b+7c+8d)+(5a+6b-70-18d)+(-9a+16b-9c-130)

= a+b+c-3d+2a+6b+7c+8d+5a+6b-70-18d-9a+16b- 9c-130

= -a + 29b - c - 13d - 200.
