2.) Find the value of 'a' if the distance between the points (a, 2), (3, 4) is 2v2.
ii) Find the point on the x-axis, which is equidistant from (7,6) and (- 3, 4).

riya27042001: what is 2V2
trivikram69: 2 root 2
riya27042001: use distance formula
trivikram69: second one

Answer:

Step-by-step explanation:

by diatance formula,[(3-a)^2 +2^2]^1/2=2^1/2

square both sides and open the brackets you will get

a^2-6a+5=0 solve for a you will get a=1 or 5

for second part take the point on x- axis as (b,0)

as(b,0) is at equal distances from both points, it divides the line joining the points in the ratio 1:1

use section formula and you will get b=2

therefore the point is(2,0)
