Step-by-step explanation:

Given:-

(i) 4/5and 7/13 (ii) 3/4and 6/5

To find:-

Find two rational numbers between

(i) 4/5and 7/13 (ii) 3/4and 6/5

Solution:-

I) Given numbers are 4/5 and 7/13

We know that

the rational number between a and b = (a+b)/2

Rational number between 4/5 and 7/13

=> [(4/5)+(7/13)]/2

=>[ {(4×13)+(7×5)}/13]/2

=>[ (52+35)/13]/2

=> (87/13)/2

=>87/(13×2)

=>87/26

Again

The rational number between 4/5 and 87/26

=>[(4/5)+(87/26)]/2

=>[{(4×26)+(87×5)}/130]/2

=>(104+435)/260

=>539/260

The two rational numbers between 4/5 and 7/13 are 87/26 and 539/260

2)

Given numbers are 3/4 and 6/5

We know that

the rational number between a and b = (a+b)/2

The rational number between 3/4 and 6/5

=>[(3/4)+(6/5)]/2

=>[{(3×5)+(4×6)}/20]/2

=>[(15+24)/20]/2

=>39/40

The rational number between 3/4 and 39/40

=>[(3/4)+(39/40)]/2

=>[{(3×10)+(39×1)}/40]/2

=>[(30+39)/40]/2

=>69/80

The rational numbers between 3/4 and

6/5 are 39/40 and 69/80

Used formulae:-

Mean Method:-

the rational number between a and b = (a+b)/2
