ANSWER:
- Value of x should be equal to 4 then the given terms are in A.P
GIVEN:
- 2x+1 ; 13 and 5x-3 are three consecutive term of an A.P
TO FIND:
- Value of'x'.
SOLUTION:
We know that in AP the common difference between the two consecutive terms are same.
So here :
=> 13-(2x+1) = common difference (d)
=> 13-2x-1 = common difference (d)
= 12-2x = d. ....(i)
Now;
=> 5x-3-13 = d
=> 5x-16 = d. ....(ii)
Equating (i) and (ii) we get;
=> 5x-16 = 12-2x
=> 5x+2x = 16+12
=> 7x = 28
=> x = 28/7
=> x = 4
- Value of x should be equal to 4 then the given terms are in A.P
