Ocean water is salty because of high concentration of rock salt at its base which keep on dissolving in water. During evaporation only water evaporates & salt is left. That salt again mix with water making it salty.

The quality of water deteroting because of disposal of garbage in water , from factory , mills ,etc. Also due to acid rain
