Metals

a) Calcium- Calcium metal is used as a reducing agent in preparing other metals such as thorium and uranium. It is also used as an alloying agent for aluminium, beryllium, copper, lead and magnesium alloys.

b)Gold- For making jewellery.Gold is a highly efficient conductor which can carry tiny currents and remain corrosion-free. It is used in connectors, switch and relay contacts, soldered joints, connecting wires and connection strips. What’s more, aside from your trusty iPhone, you’ll find gold in calculators and most large electronic appliances – even your standard desktop or laptop computer and your TV.

c) Aluminium- With its high malleability, high strength to weight ratio, and versatility, aluminium is a valuable material at the heart of high-rise buildings and skyscrapers. It is also an ideal material because of its durability, design flexibility, and contributions to energy savings, both front-end and back-end.

Non Metals

a)Carbon- Carbon (in the form of coal, which is mainly carbon) is used as a fuel.

b) Nitrogen- While the main industrial use of nitrogen is to create ammonia that is required for fertilizer, explosives, and other materials, it uses go far beyond these applications. From food packaging to pharmaceuticals, nitrogen gas can be found in more places and used for more purposes than you may have realized.

c) Oxygen- Oxygen is essential for respiration because the body uses it to 'burn' food molecules. Animals take in oxygen when inhaling and give off carbon dioxide when exhaling. ... This is why rescue breathing works - it can supply a non breathing patient with enough oxygen to support life.
