Recreational activities like swimming and walking can certainly be a medium of health optimisation.
These activities have many benefits:
- Being recreational activities, they are enjoyable and so reduce stress levels.
- They tone various muscle groups and hence tone up the body too.
- If one gets regular at recreational activities, then they also help build a routine. A routine is important for health optimisation.
- Recreational activities address the physical as well as the social needs of an individual, because when you step out, you meet others and build yet another social circle.
Given the benefits of recreational activities, I plan to participate in one such activity, because I feel that recreational activities are the first step towards health optimisation. The intensity of exercise can be increased according to need and motivation levels, to achieve health optimisation.
