According to the narrator, the river changes mood according to the weather. When it is bright sunshine, it is a happy, dancing, laughing, loving, river. It appears as beautiful as a fairy.

However, when it is raining and cold, the same river appears to be like a sluggish sad woman weeping in some dark chamber. The woods appear dark with mist hanging like a shrouded ghost standing on the banks on either side.

The narrator states that river changes the mood with respect to weather. At the full sunshine, the river becomes happy, seems like dancing as well as a laughing river.

On the contrary, in the cold and rainy weather, the river looks like a “quiet sad river”. At this moment, it appears like a crying woman who is continuously weeping in a dark place. On the banks of the river, woods of plants appear to be very dark.
