Explanation:

Light travels in a straight line because the diffraction effect is least due to the small wavelength of light. So the small wavelength of light produces negligible diffraction and therefore light travels along a straight line.

Explanation:

It can be performed by an activity.

Aim : To show light travels in straight line

Materials required : A cylindrical pipe, a candle, a matchstick

Procedure : take the straight cylindrical pipe. Then put a burning candle on one end. And other put your eye. Then bent the pipe to form like V shape. Now do same.

Observation : In 1st case we are able to see the candle. But in 2nd case we can not see the candle.

Conclusion : Because light travels travels in straight line. So in straight pipe we can see it but in 2nd case the light not able to bent and can not reach other end.

You please draw a pipe. And then draw a candle at one end and a eye at other end and show a ray of light is striking on the point where pipe is bent.
