o   Atherosclerosis: It signifies deposition of fatty plaques on the inner walls of arteries which causes lessening of the central cavity of arteries; as a result, the torrent of blood is decreased which may eventually cause hypertension, angina pectoris, heart attack(myocardial infarction) and stroke.
o   Arteriosclerosis: It means toughening of arteries owing to sedimentation of calcium salts and cholesterol to form plaques. This causes the arterial walls to become inflexible and unyielding. Such arteries lose the ability of expansion and their walls may rift which in turn may coagulate and obstruct the passageway of blood flow.
o   Hypertension: It is defined as persistently raised blood pressure in a person and it can hurt three dynamic organs of the body i.e. brain, heart, and kidneys.
