1) The first symbol depicts a cell, one of the most essential parts of the circuit. It provides electricity to the circuit by converting the chemical energy stored inside it into electric energy. The positive terminal is the longer line in red and the negative terminal is the shorter line in black (as in attachment).

2) The second symbol is of a bulb. A good bulb glows when connected to a complete circuit.

3) The third symbol indicates a battery of two cells. A group of cells is referred to as a battery.

4) The fourth symbol shows a switch. A switch controls the flow and break of electricity in an electric circuit.
