from (2)
X = 6/Y
putting value of X in (1)
18/Y+2Y=12
18 + 2Y^2 = 12Y
2Y^2 - 12Y + 18 = 0
Y^2 - 6Y + 9 = 0
on solving equation

[Y = 3]
putting value of Y in (2)
we get
[X = 2]
