Given,

a = b = 2

find: (-b²) + 2ab

-b² = (a+b)(a-b) [identity]

substituting the values,

(-b²) + 2ab

(a-b)(a+b) + 2ab

(2-2)(2+2) + 2(2)(2)

0(4) + 8

0 + 8

= 8

Hope it helps
