if two forces act on a body in the same direction , the result is that the magnitude of the net force acting ont the body is the sum of the magnitudes of these two forces are not the same than it is possible than in issue cases there may be a torque generate. the magnitude of direction of which would depend on the distance of these two forces from the axis of rotation. hence net forces is the addition of forces.
