x + y = 90     ----- (1).

Given that Difference of two complementary angles is 40.

x + y + x - y = 90 + 40

2x = 130

x = 65.

Substitute x = 65 in (1), we get 

x + y = 90

65 + y = 90

y = 25.

The angles are 65 and 25.
