Step-by-step explanation:

X-3 is a factor of the equation

So when you put x=3 on the eq then the value is

9a + 15 +b =0

9a + b + 15 =0............. (1)

when you put x=1/3 on the eq then the value is

a/9 + 5/3 +b =o

a + 15 +9b =0

a+9b +15 =0..................(2)

{Eq (1) * 9} - {Eq(2)}

=> 81a + 9b + 135 - a - 9b - 15 =0

=> 80a = -120

=> 8a = - 12

=> a= - 3/2

Put the value of a in Eq 2

-3/2 + 9b = -15

=> 9b = 3/2 - 15

=> 9b = - 27/2

=> b= - 3/2

So the overall value of a = b = (-3/2)
