2. in a journey of 250km, the car covered first 150km at speed of 30kmph, then there was a halt of 3 hours. The remaining distance was then covered at speed 50kmph. Determine the average speed for the entire journey.​

We know that, Speed = Distance / Time

So, time taken to travel first 150 km, t1 = Distance / Speed = 150 / 30 = 5 h

Time taken to travel next 60 km, t2 = Distance / Speed = 60 / 40 = 1.5 h

Total distance travelled = 210 km

Total time taken = t1 + t2 = 5 + 1.5 = 6.5 h

So, average speed = Total distance / Total time = 210 / 6.5 = 32.308 km/h
