2. In a school there are 50 students in Class VI A. 88% of the students passed
a Mathematics test. The same number of boys and girls failed in the exam.
If 42% of the total students are girls, how many boys passed the test?​

Total number of students = 50.

Number of students passed = 88%

         or  50 * 88/100 = 44

Number of students failed = 50 - 44  =6.

As the number of girls failed = number of boys failed,  

   Each is  = 6/2 = 3  each failed.

Given out of the students 42% are girls.

   So  50 *42/100 =  21   girls

  So   50 - 21 = 29  boys are there.

so boys passed = total boys - failed boys

                         = 29 - 3

                        =26 boys
