2. In a Young’s double-slit experiment, two slits separated by d=0.12 mm are illuminated with light (λ = 546 nm). The distance between the double slits and the screen is L=55cm. What is the distance between two simultaneous bright fringes?

Answer :-

The distance between two simultaneous bright fringes will be equal to two times the fringe width.

(You can refer the diagram of YDSE for the analysis)

Fringe width = (L x λ)/d

Remember to convert oll to same unit.I will do that with milimeter

= (550 x 546 x 10^{-7})/0.12

=  0.25 mm
