why is there no Prime Minister in the
United States of America?

Answer:
Explanation:
The type/system of electoral democracy followed in the two countries is different. The US follows the Presidential form wherein the President is elected through popular vote. He then nominates various Secretaries of State (Ministers) who are then approved by the Congressmen ( same as our MPs). The President is the Chief Executive, hence no need for a PM. Besides, the Secys of State (Ministers) in the US are NOT elected but nominated to their posts.
On the other hand, we elect Members of Parliament from each Constituency, belonging to one or the other Political Party. The leader of the Party (or a coalition) that wins the majority (51%) seats becomes the PM. He then appoints Ministers out of the elected MPs of the Party (or to be elected/nominated MP). The PM is the chief executive while the President of India (not directly elected) is the Constitutional Head of State, who essentially plays a ceremonial role.
