The SUBTOTAL function in Excel allows one to form groups and perform various other Excel functions such as SUM, COUNT, AVERAGE, PRODUCT, MAX, etc.

It is also useful for analyzing the data provided.

Steps:

1. On the Data tab, in the Outline group one has to click the Minimum Value tab.

2. In each change box, click on the lower nest column.

3. In the Use box, click the summary function the person wants to use to calculate the minimum values.
