area of quadrilateral  ABCD.  is 924 cm²

Step-by-step explanation:

quadrilateral ABCD divides in two triangle and that is triangle ABD and triangle BCD

so area of quadrilateral ABCD = area ( triangle ABD + triangle BCD)

in Area of triangle ABD

s = (a + b + c)/2 = ( 40 + 29 + 29 )/2 = 49

area of triangle = √s(s-a)(s-b)(s-c)

=√((49(49-40)(49-29)(49-29) )

=√(49*9*20*20)  = 21 * 20 = 420 cm²

now area of  triangle BCD

s = (a + b + c)/2 = ( 48 + 35 + 29 )/2 = 56

area of triangle = √s(s-a)(s-b)(s-c)

=√((56(56-48)(56-29)(56-35) )

=√(56 * 8 * 27 * 21) = 504 cm²

total area = 504 + 420 = 924 cm²
