area of quadrilateral ABCD = 924 cm²

Step-by-step explanation:

given data

AB = 40 cm

BC = 35 cm

CD = 48 cm

DA = 29 cm

diagonal BD = 29 cm

solution

we get here area of quadrilateral ABCD that is

area of quadrilateral ABCD = Area of triangle ABD + Area of triangle BDC  ...........1

first we get here Area of triangle ABD

so in triangle ABD

x = (29 + 40 + 29) ÷ 2

x = 49 cm

so Area of triangle ABD is

area =  \sqrt{x(x-a) (x-b) (x-c)}

area =  \sqrt{49(49-29) (49-40) (49-29)}

area =  420 cm²

and

now we get Area of triangle BDC

so here in triangle BDC are

y = (29 + 35 + 48) ÷ 2

y = 56 cm

so

Area of triangle BDC

area = \sqrt{y(y-a) (y-b) (y-c)}

area = \sqrt{56(56-29) (56-35) (56-48)}

area =  504 cm²

so here area of quadrilateral ABCD is

area of quadrilateral ABCD  = 420 + 504

area of quadrilateral ABCD = 924 cm²
