use heron's formula to do so

in triangle ABD

semi perimeter(s)=(29+29+40)/2=49

therefore,√(49-29)(49-29)(49-40)=60cm^2

In triangle BCD

semi perimeter(s)=(48+35+29)/2=56

therefore,√(56-48)(56-35)(56-29)=18√14

total area=60+18√14=78√14

=294.8492(approx.)
