GIVEN

  • P'Q'R'S' is an enlargement of PQRS with a scale factor of k.
  • P'Q' = 16 cm
  • PQ = 8 cm
  • QR = 4 cm
  • S'R' = 14 cm

SOLUTION

Scale Factor = P'Q'/PQ = Q'R'/QR = S'R'/SR = k

P′Q′/PQ = k

16/8 = k

k = 2

____________

Q′R′/QR = k

Q′R′/4 = 2

Q′R′ = 8 cm

____________

S′R′/SR = k

14/SR = 2

SR = 7 cm
