Hi,
Distance is the length of path transversed by an object.
Displacement is the shortest path between source and destination.
Distance is a scalar quantity and Displacement is a vector quantity.

DISTANCE AND MAGNITUDE OF DISPLACEMENT WILL BE EQUAL when an object is tavelling in a straight path that is rectilinear path.
